Report from Foundation for Life
October to December 2009

The following is a report of what has been done from October to December 2009

1. Project to Develop Youth Leaders on the Theme “A Life of Liberty”
Liberty without boundaries is dangerous, both to the person and to society, however liberty within boundary will lead to growth when under the guardianship of a caring adult. This is true for the budding child and even more so for the transitioning youth, who need a mature friend to help give them a basis for making right choices in their daily lives.
This year our Foundation organized 3 leadership camps on the theme ‘A Life of Liberty’ from 19-22 October, with specific objectives for the following groups namely; the preteen girls, the teenage girls and for the boys. Wholistic development was emphasized so that all campers have physical, emotional and intellectual input, while giving them a chance to serve each other in the camps. A total of about 300 campers from various communities in the provinces, both the lowlanders and the highlanders gathered together. They came from places like Bangkok, Khon Kaen, Chonburi, Chiangmai, Chiangrai, Rayong and Samut Songkhram. These youths with varied backgrounds learnt to live and work together as teams, had the freedom for creative thinking, learnt what it meant to respect those of the opposite sex, having fun with activities that provided both liberty and boundary. They also brain-stormed for the activities that will take place in the year 2010.
Furthermore, all campers had the opportunity to practice using the Project “S.M.A.R.T. Scheme”, where they learnt about how to Save, to Spend, to Give and to Invest. Circumstances simulating the daily life were created and ‘unforeseen’ situations arose that put stress on each campers’ financial status, so they had to either solve the ‘problem’ themselves or had to do it with the help of friends. This activity so impressed the campers that many decided to apply it in their daily lives back home.

2. Project Blessing the Community
During the month of December, the Foundation presented educational equipment, books and toys to the underprivileged community in Bangkok, like Klong Toey, Lardprao and in the upcountry like Chiangmai, Chiangrai, Sisaket and Rayong. Office equipment and furniture were also donated to Foundation Baan Prachrit for use in their office.

3. Project “Sharing Love and Increasing Knowledge for 8 years and More” by
The Amarin Book Centre Ltd
On the 2 nd December, the President of the Amari Printing and Publishing Pte Ltd, Khun Maetta Utgapan, presented a cheque of THB 100,000 to the Foundation in support of our work, under their project of the above title.

The Foundation is grateful for your continued support of our programs
so that children and youths may be duly developed in the past trimester.
Despite the downturn in the economy,
we have been greatly encouraged and blessed
by philanthropists like yourselves.

May the Lord bless you and your family with true happiness and prosperity!!
